This notice explains how Yorkshire Accident Recovery & Rescue ("we", "us") uses personal information when you use this website, contact us or use our services. We are the data controller. What we collect and why
- Enquiries and bookings. If you call, email or use our contact form we collect your name, phone number, email address (if given), the location and details of your vehicle, and your message. We use this to respond to you and to carry out the recovery or storage you ask for. Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract, and performing that contract.
- Your location. If you press "Share my location", your device works out your position in your browser. It is not sent to us or anyone else unless you choose to text or email the link to us. We then use it only to find you and send a truck.
- Insurance and records. For accident recoveries we may keep details about you, your vehicle and your insurer, and share them with your insurer, a garage or storage provider as needed to carry out your instructions. We may also need to keep records to meet legal, tax and insurance requirements.
- Website usage (only if you accept). If you accept optional cookies we may use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. This data is anonymous and used on the basis of your consent.
- Technical data. Our website host may log technical information such as IP address and browser type to keep the site secure and working. This is based on our legitimate interest in running a safe website.

Who we share information with
We do not sell your information. We share it only where needed: with your insurer, garage or storage provider when you ask us to; with service providers who help us run the website, send enquiries or analyse visits (such as our website host, Google, and Formspree, which delivers messages sent through our contact form to us by email); and where the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including to deal with your enquiry, handle any follow-up or claim, and meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations. After that we delete or anonymise it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
